I am so glad I serve a God who knows all about me. I am so glad I serve a God who always forgives and forgets. I am so glad I serve a God who is a God of mercy and whose mercy endureth forever. I am so glad I serve a God who said I am his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which He had before ordained that I should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

I am so glad I serve a God who is a God of grace. I am so glad I serve a God whereby all things all possible through Him. I am so glad I serve a God who consistently makes the wise look foolish and the foolish look wise. I am so glad I serve a God who never condemns. I am so glad I serve a God who has always been with me and has never forsaken me.

Most of all, I am so glad I serve a God who is not like “Church Folk.”

Church Folk are those who pride themselves on going to church all the time. They are the ones who go out of their way to dress and talk holy all of the time. They are the ones who want you to think they have never done anything wrong nor do they have a checkered past. They are the ones who act like they were born saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. And if they would be honest, deep down, they believe they are going to heaven because they are living something.

But the truth of the matter is: God cannot use Church Folk.

God cannot use Church Folk because too many of them are like the older brother of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). God cannot use Church Folk because too many of them are like the workers in the vineyard who complained about being paid the same as those who came after them (Matthew 20:1-16). God cannot use Church Folk for they are too busy in church trying to establish their own righteousness instead of accepting the righteous of God through Jesus Christ.

Church Folk do not have the time to be used of God because a lot of their time is spent judging others. If it was up to Church Folk, Abraham would have never been chosen by God to be the Father of many nations because in his past, Abraham and his family worshipped idol gods. Jacob would have never been chosen to be the patriarch of the Jews because of his past deceits. Peter would have never been chosen to be the head of the church in Jerusalem because of his past denial of knowing Jesus Christ. Paul would have never been made the Apostle to the Gentiles because he crucified the Church in the past.

You see, God only uses those who many say are not worthy. God only uses people who are busy in many areas and not those who stay busy just in church. God only uses those, whereby as a result, He is the only one who gets the glory. God uses the down and out. God uses those who have a bad past. God uses those who are talked about in a negative way. God uses those who have been humbled by Him and not by people. God uses those who have an intimate relationship with Him and not with the church or the pastor. What an awesome God we serve!!!
