The 23rd Founder Day service will conclude Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, at noon, pastor appreciation service will be held with speaker Pastor Hazel Johnson of Mt. Sinai Holy Church.

Women’s Empowerment Day – 2015 will be held Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. The theme is “All the King’s Daughters”. Rev. Linda McLymore will be the guest messenger. Lunch will be served. Veterans-Active Military Day will be observed Nov. 8 at 11 a.m.

PFWB Church

The Rev. Jim Gurganus will be the guest speaker Nov. 1 at the 11 a.m. service. He was pastor for several years in the 1980s. Calvary is located at 6570 High House Road, just west of Piney Green and Highway 242.

Coopers Chapel


Fall revival services will end Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Elder Reginald Silver from Rock of Ages Church in Rocky Mount.

Immanuel Baptist Church

A fall festival will be held Friday, Oct. 30, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Mr. Wolfe, NC State’s mascot, will be present at the festival.

Mintz Baptist


The church will be celebrating 101 years of ministry at homecoming service on Nov. 1 at 10:30 a.m. The Dove Brothers will be singing during the service. Wesley Smith, tenor with the Dove Brothers, will be sharing about his family ties with Mintz Baptist.

New Church

of Christ

The church, 9659 Faison Hwy., Faison, will have prophetic services Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. The speaker will be Prophet Leroy Hargett of Life Changes Church, Smithfield, along with his choir and congregation.

New Mt. Zion

United Holy Church

District Elder Lorenzo and First Lady Cheryl Simmons and the entire church family would like to announce the grand opening date of the New Mt. Zion UHC of Warsaw, 250 Lanefield Road, will begin Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. with Bishop Ralph Love bringing the message. The celebration will continue Nov. 1-8 with Sunday morning service at 11 a.m. and nightly services at 7 p.m.

The church, located in Salemburg, will celebrate 117 years at the annual homecoming service Nov. 1. Worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Lunch was be served afterward. Rev. Ernie King, pastor, will deliver the homecoming message.
