Mintz Baptist Church will be hosting a concert with the Mark Trammell Quartet on Sunday night, March 13, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Mintz Christian Academy gymnasium. This is free concert, but a love offering will be taken. Mintz Christian Academy is located at 2741 Mintz Road in Roseboro.

For over 40 years, Mark Trammell has been blessed to sing Gospel Music. Something he says, “evolved from a dream to a life’s call, and from just singing to a ministry”. Many long time followers of Gospel Music consider Mark to be one of the greatest baritone singers of all time. He has won multiple awards as a singer and producer, and has been a member of four of Gospel Music’s most acclaimed groups – The Kingsmen, The Cathedrals, Greater Vison, and Gold City. For most people, just being with one of these legendary groups would be the pinnacle of a career. But Trammell was not satisfied to kick back and rest on his past accomplishments. Instead he felt God calling him to yet another premier group. This time the group would bear his name.

In April 2002, Trammell set out on a calling to form his own music and evangelism ministry. He started his group as a trio and several years later changed it to a quartet. After 14 years of ministry, The Mark Trammell Quartet is going stronger than ever, and they are considered one of the top 5 quartets in America. Their calendar is full and they are in greater demand than they ever imagined. They travel all over the United States and Canada sharing the good news of their Savior Jesus Christ.

Joe Hedrick, minister of music at Mintz shares these thoughts, “We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to host a group of this caliber. We are looking forward to a great night of music and ministry as we worship with Mark and his quartet. I have worked with Mark on several occasions and know that his heart is a heart of ministry and not just entertainment. We are in for a great evening on March 13th. Please plan to join us for a great time of worship.”
