The Harrells Christian Academy Lady Crusaders began their 2016 basketball debut on Monday night with a 46-12 win over North Myrtle Beach Christian. They used a strong offensive and defensive showing in the first half, scoring 32 points en route to the win.

They would lead 16-0 at the end of the first half, all they would need to seal the win.

“They had some young girls on their team and we played defense very well. Everyone played an extended amount of playing time,” said HCA Coach Wayne Canady.

Sierra Votaw scored 20 points on the night despite being double- and tripled-teamed, while Madison Tart and Tyler Evans played well on the defensive end of the ball, the coach stated. Newcomer Brenna King “played well by making key rebounds, making good decisions and also made some key shots,” noted Canady.

Sydney Norris would also pitch in 10 points. King, Evans, and Ashlynn Hardison contributed four points apiece.

The Crusaders are now 1-0 overall.
