Harrells Christian varsity football brought home the win Friday, beating Warren County High School, 26-14.


The Crusaders got all their points before the first half, scoring 2 touchdowns in the first quarter and 2 in the second quarter. Warren County put up 6 points in the first quarter and 8 points in the final quarter.


Scoring touchdowns for Harrells was Zach Carlton, who rushed for 6 points, caught a 9-yard pass in the end zone, and then powered through the line for a 2 point conversion. Marcus Scarborough and Kelly Nelms each rushed into the end zone to add TD points to the board.


Leading rusher for HCA was Kelly Nelms with 23 carries for 111 yards. Zack Carlton went 9 for 88; Marcus Scarborough, 8 for 80, and Channing Kelly, 6 for 42.


On defense for the Crusaders, Patrick Walker was credited with 12 tackles; Fredrick and O.H. Rouse each had 10 tackles; Channing Kelly had 9 tackles; and Ben Parker, 7 tackles.


HCA continues their winning streak, moving to 3-0 this season. They will host Davidson Day School this Friday.
