The Lakewood boys soccer team played their best, but couldn’t overcome two first half mistakes that led to Rosewood goals. The final score was 2-1.

The Leopards were able to respond in the 2nd half with 4 minutes on the clock when Jonathan Garcia launched one into the net, but time ran out before Lakewood could even the score and Rosewood left with the win.

Leopard head coach Jay Faircloth was pleased with his team‘s play despite the loss.

“This was really just a hard, but good game that we played. Rosewood is a good ball club and they are a hard team to play. I’m really disappointed in the loss, because we made two bad mistakes in the first half, and they got two good goals off of it. We fought the whole game, and we had 3 players sitting on the bench from injuries, so maybe we can come back, and get the win against them when we’re healthy. Other than that, I think we played great, and we were very aggressive,“ he stated.

The Leopards’ record drops to 0-3-1, and their next game is against James Kenan at Lakewood on Monday.
