Tim’s Gift holding 3rd annual golf tourney
Funds to benefit Hope Project
The third annual Tim’s Gift golf tournament will be held Friday, Oct. 18 at Coharie Country Club, and organizers are urging those who haven’t signed up yet to play in the event to do so.
Proceeds from the tournament will go to fund the Hope Project, a new initiative launched by Tim’s Gift to provide assistance to members of the local community.
This years event is being held in honor of Burl Williamson and in memory of Dale Denning.
Cameron Spell, volunteer staff member at Tim’s Gift, said there was still time to register for the tournament, and those interested can do so by calling the office at 592-1126 or going online to TimsGift.com.
Sponsorships and donations, he said, are needed and appreciated.
The tournament kicks off at 8 a.m. with breakfast and registration, with play starting at 9 a.m. There will be a silent auction, team pictures, raffles and half-and-half tickets for sale.
Spell said any monies that are donated to Tim’s Gift Inc. or proceeds from any fundraisers go directly back into the community helping people here at home through the Hope Project. Tim’s Gift, Inc. works to provide help and hope to the community through various avenues of service — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The Hope Project aligns with the vision of Tim’s Gift by giving financial help and hope to those in need.
The Hope Project is an addition to the programs offered to the community through Tim’s Gift, Inc. The Hope Project, in essence, is a financial assistance fund directed to help cancer patients pay prescription drug and treatment copays.
