Union’s girls soccer team won again Thursday evening, beating East Bladen, 5-1. East Bladen jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the early minutes of the game as the Lady Spartans lacked energy, but Union then scored 4 unanswered to end the half, before adding one more in the second for the 5-1 final.
Paola Sevilla had 3 goals and 2 assists, taking her season total up to 24 goals in just 10 games. Victoria Devone also played a great game, scoring twice.
“It’s one of those games where I’m happy with the way we responded and the way that I’m seeing hard work and dedication pay off for these girls,” said Union’s head coach Johnathon Taylor in the post-game interview.
Union is now 6-4 on the year and 4-2 in conference play. They will take their 3 game winning streak to West Bladen on Tuesday.
