Clinton visited Union for a Four County Conference Softball game on Monday night. The Dark Horses Played well early on, taking the lead at 9-7 in the third inning. Unfortunately for Clinton, as has been the story of their season, they were unable to hold onto the lead and yielded to the Spartans by a score of 21-11.
It was an offensive explosion for the Spartans Monday night, which pleased Union’s head coach Doug Burley.
Taylor Malpass was the winning pitcher as she struck out 2 batters.
Hope Cottle went 1-3 with 3 runs scored for Union; Lauren Preddy went 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored; Carley Jones went 1-2 with a double and 3 runs scored; Katie Hunter was 2-2 with 2 runs scored; Allison Alphin went 1-3 with 2 runs scored; Taylor Malpass helped her own cause by scoring 3 runs; Michala Robinson reached base a couple of times to score 2 runs; Claire Riley had 3 runs scored, and Brianna Allen went 1-3 with a double and a run scored.

Union’s game against Midway has been rescheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday. The game time is set for 6 p.m. at Union.
