Clinton placed second in the Mideast Regional for 2A golfers this past Monday at Fairmont Country Club. The Horses shot a team total of 323, which was good enough for them to advance to the state championship on Monday and Tuesday at Longleaf Golf Club in Pinehurst.

Clinton was paced by an impressive, one-under par 71 by Reid Darden. This was good enough for Darden to earn runner-up honors in the region as an individual.

Coach Eddie Grey of Clinton said that he was really proud of his guys, and they have continued to get better because they have the drive to practice and desire to get better. “We’re excited to be in the state championship, and we are going to have to play the best golf of our lives if we want to bring home any hardware,” finished Grey.
