Lakewood Country Club hosted the Annual Hancock Memorial Stedman Pentecostal Golf Tournament Saturday, May 11th. There was a great turnout, with 27 teams of a four-man captain’s choice format participating.
There were three flights, and prizes were awarded to the top three spots in each flight. Jack Smith, Jay Yergeau, Greg Nunnery, and Jeff Bullard shot 55 to win the first flight. Second was Griffin Faircloth. Jerry Faircloth, Jimmy Averitt, and Jessie Callahan with a 56. Cory Horne, Adam Lucas, Aaron Cain, and Ryan Blake were third with a 57.
Gary Tanner, Gary Tew, Tony Edge, and Arnold Autry won the second flight with a score of 61. Frankie Underwood, Brian and Keith Noble, and Gene Davis were second with a 62, and Andy and Mike Tew, along with Stephen Frazier and Bennie Adair shot 63 to finish third in the second flight.
Bennie and Cope Bunce won the third flight with teammates Dwight Matthews and Fred Horrell, shooting 66. Tom Kosto, Jim Humphrey and Victoria Clumper were second with a 67, and Chuck Jenkins, Patrick Smith, Joshua Strickland and Johnny Hancock were third with a 68.
