Midway’s junior varsity football team entertained Rosewood Thursday night. The Raiders won the game 24-0.

The Raiders’ first score came at the 5:05 mark of the opening quarter. Adrian Williams scampered in from 1 yard out, following a first and goal run by Shaking Warren. Quarterback Landon Dorman ran for the 2 point conversion.

With 4:42 left in the first half, Williams struck again. This time he broke loose for 53 yards and pay dirt. Jake Clark carried the ball in for the conversion and 16-0 would be the score at intermission.

Midway’s final touchdown came with 8:08 remaining in the 3rd period. Warren scored from a yard out. Clark came through again on the 2 point conversion.

Rosewood threatened in the 4th period, but the Raider defense held them on 4th and goal from the 7.

Among the Midway defensive highlights, Caleb Horne garnered 2 sacks.

“We played good,” declared Raider coach Austin Tart. “The offensive line blocked good, the running backs ran hard. Defensively, we stepped up. We got turnovers when we needed them. The only bad thing was we had 4 turnovers.”

Midway, 1-1, will host Lakewood next Thursday.
