In keeping with the 4-H model of service to the community, members of the Home Runners 4-H Club participated in a community service activity Tuesday morning. The club brought Christmas cheer to the seniors in attendance at the Butler Court Senior Center. Activities included bingo, gifts and singing, plus lots of food.
“This is something I started as my community service project and I wanted to include the entire club in the activities. We love coming here and have done so often,” explained 4-Her Carla Piercy.
There are about 10 members in the club but only five were present for the holiday celebration at Butler Court, including: Piercy, Destini Cottle, Chase Piercy, Owen Flock and Cliff Flock. Leaders Kim Piercy, Deanna Flock and Cathy Cottle also assisted the club members in the activities.
Club members provided gifts, Christmas cards and decorated cupcakes for each senior present.
The Home Runners 4-H Club is made up of home schooled students and they enjoy helping out at Butler Court and working with the senior citizens.
