The 2012 fall staff development meeting for the District Leadership Council of Family and Consumer Sciences teachers for District 2 was held on Oct. 17, at Green Central High School in Snow Hill.

The District Leadership Council (DLC) provides leadership in planning and directing Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Education programs in North Carolina. The district is made up of the following counties: Wayne, Greene, Lenoir, Craven, Pamlico, Jones, Sampson, Duplin, Onslow, Carteret, Pender, New Hanover, and Brunswick.

In attendance from Clinton High School were Jeannette Butler,Tracy Hatcher, and Donna Owens.

Teachers had the opportunity to work collaboratively with Takeda Legrand, an FACS consultant from the state Board of Education, Department of Public Instruction. Objectives were identified to help teachers integrate FCCLA as part of the classroom curriculum, and ideas were shared to promote programs among the schools.
