CLINTON — Mr. Charles Wendell Price, 84, of 507 Blaney St., passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at Clinton Pentecostal Holiness Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roland Harrell and the Rev. Dwight Dunning officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Mr. Price was a native of Duplin County, son of the late Major Price and Sula Lewis Price. He was a member of Clinton Pentecostal Church, former owner of Wendell’s Department Store and later Price’s Department Store. He was a retired salesman with Baby Needs Inc. He was a member of the Gideons. He was also owner and operator of Six Runs Orchard. Due to his membership with the Gideons and his ownership of the Orchard he presented Gideon Bibles to the travelers who visited his produce stand. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Kennedy and Dorothy Kunkle.

Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Helen Lane Price of Clinton. In addition, he is survived by two sons, Charles Anthony Price and wife Mary of Clinton and Marshall Keith Price and Cindy of Burlington. Two brothers, Dennis Price of Chesapeake, VA and Eddis Price of Clinton; Four sisters, Evelyn Shipp, Grace Lancaster, Ester Price, all of Raleigh and Doris Caldwell of Wilmington. Three grandchildren, Caroline, Jenna and Matthew Price.

Family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at the home.
