TURKEY — Mr. Edgar Allen Herring, 61, of 1421 Needmore Road, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating.

Mr. Herring, born in Wayne County, was the son of Mary Jane Strickland Herring and the late Victor Allen Herring and was the husband of Naomi Register Herring. He was a real estate appraiser and retired from Pearson Appraisals in Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Register Herring of the home; three children, Tammy Herring Williams of Lyme, Conn., Lee Allen Herring of Greenville, and Meredith Paige Herring of Greenville; his mother, Mary Jane Strickland Herring of Mt. Olive; a sister, Vickie H. Howell of Mt. Olive; a brother, Richard Carroll Herring of Calypso; five grandchildren, Jaquelle Herring, Jason Herring, Graham Williams, Lydia Williams, and Abigail Williams.

The family will receive friends at the home.
