WINSTON-SALEM — Mrs. Edith E. Hartis, formerly from Clinton, passed away on Saturday, Sept 29, 2012 at the Brian Center in Lexington with her daughter and family at her side. Mrs. Hartis is proceeded in death by her father, Adolf Edwards, her mother, Aileen Edwards and brother, Billy Edwards. She was a member of The North Carolina Nursing Association.

She is survived by her daughter, Penny Barker and husband, Chad of Winston Salem; sister, Mary Campbell and husband, Ransy of Jamestown; brothers, Mitchell Edwards and wife, Gail and James Edwards and wife, Trish of Florida; two granddaughters, Jennifer N. King of Pikeville and Amanda L. May of Goldsboro; and six great-grandchildren, all of Pikeville.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 4 at Grace Baptist Church In Winston Salem. Arrangements provided by The National Cremation Society of Greensboro.
