Elma McLamb, 101

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Mrs. Elma Strickland McLamb,101, formerly of 5636 N. Salemburg Hwy., Roseboro, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at the Sunshine Assisted Living Home in Coral Springs, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. at the Piney Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Keith Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Green Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born in 1911 in Sampson County, Mrs. McLamb was the daughter of the late John Robert and Lola Strickland. She was the owner & operator of McLamb Country Grocery for over 50 years. She was a member of Piney Green Baptist Church where she served as church organist for 56 years. She was the widow of David Calls McLamb.

She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Parks of Coral Springs, Florida, three grandchildren, Karen McLamb, Lisa King and Debbie Parks and two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Adam King.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Elma McLamb Memorial Fund, c/o Piney Green Baptist Church, 6040 High House Road, Salemburg, NC 28385.
