An argument that led to a fight late last week has left two Clinton High School students with citations for simple affray and injury to personal property.

Darius Jones, 19, of 214 Millbrook Ave., Clinton, and Roland Dupuy, 18, of 701 Raleigh Road, Clinton, were each cited for simple affray and injury to personal property after the incident that took place at 119 Dogwood Circle last week.

According to reports released Tuesday morning from the Clinton Police Department, officers were called to the scene Thursday, Sept. 14, around 2:30 p.m. on a complaint of a fight in progress.

When officers arrived, reports show that a 35-year-old woman, who lives in the area, told police she was the one who called and explained that the two men who were fighting damaged her car during their street brawl.

Both Jones and Dupuy admitted to officers that they had been engaged in a fight, reports show, and that they did, indeed, bump into the woman’s vehicle during the incident.

After further investigation, it was discovered that the men had started fighting in the street after an argument, during which they ran into and damaged a side mirror to her Nissan Maxima. Total damage to the vehicle was estimated at $500.

The two men were cited and are responsible for the damages.

No injuries were reported.
