Dr. and Mrs. Rufus Gene Hales of Clinton are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebekah Ann, to Corey Tokoly Barnhill, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Kenneth Barnhill Jr. of Burgaw.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ann Evans Faircloth and the late Mr. John Love Faircloth Jr. of Fayetteville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Luke Madison Hales of Roseboro.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Virginia Matthews Barnhill and the late Mr. James Kenneth Barnhill Sr. of Atkinson and Mr. and Mrs. James Andrew Tokoly of Burgaw.

The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of Meredith College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development. She will graduate in December from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a M.A. Ed. in Professional School Counseling. She is currently employed as a Professional School Counselor with Sampson County Schools at Sampson Early College High School in Clinton.

The groom-elect is a 2009 graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Prior to graduating in 2009, he was the financial analyst with Morgan Stanley in New York. After receiving his Economics degree, he worked for two years with Harris Crane in business development as an agriculture commodity broker. Currently, he works as the president and managing partner for Southeastern Grain Company, LLC.

The ceremony will take place Sept. 15, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Wilmington. Formal invitations will be mailed.
