Clinton’s Dark Horses plowed by Richlands in a road game Thursday that moves them another game closer to earning the regular season conference title. Final score was 4-2.

Coach Brad Spell said the boys played a great first half but got outplayed during the second period.

“I was very pleased with the way they played in the first half. They were moving the ball well, executing well … but in that second half, Richlands outplayed us. We can’t allow that to happen when we meet Topsail Monday.”

Scoring goals for Clinton were Wil Pearson, Will Reagan, Wyman Faison and Eric Bradshaw.

The Horses move to 13-4-1 overall and 8-0-1 in the conference.

They travel to Topsail Monday. The Horses remain a half game ahead of Topsail and the Monday match will determine who will have sole possession of first place with only two more games to go.

JV wins

Clinton’s JV also got a soccer win versus Richlands. Final score 2-1.
