CLINTON — Mr. James Thomas “Tom” Hicks, 80, of 402 Weeks St., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, at Faith Temple Pentecostal Church, Clinton, with Pastor Vincent Gunn officiating. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery, Clinton.

Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Gladys Hicks of the home; daughters, Wanda Joyner, Lakachia Faison and Sandra Darden, all of Clinton,and Deborah Israel of Raleigh.; sons, Vernon Hicks of Warsaw, Thomas Hicks and Michael Hicks, both of Clinton and Joseph Hicks of Jacksonville; sisters, Katie Armwood of Warsaw; and Gladys Christine Mearite of Bennettsville, S.C.; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m..
