AUTRYVILLE — Mr. John Kelly Carlisle, 71 of 1644 Sivertsen Road, Autryville, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop Warren H. Barfield, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the T.J. Hall Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Carlisle was born on March 16, 1941 in Sampson County to the late Jesse Holland and Cora Belle Faircloth Carlisle. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter, Gina Kay Carlisle. He attended Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy and worked as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic with E.S. & J. Enterprise. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Doris Jean Carlisle of the home; four daughters, Melody Ann Carlisle of Fayetteville, Candi Lee Burgess of the home, Brandi Carlisle Smith of Louisiana and Gina Kay Whitehead of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth Burgess, Kelly Landon Burgess, Autumn Riley Burgess, Alexis Rhiannon Carlisle and Keileigh Anne Whitehead; three siblings, Charles Edward Carlisle of Autryville, Carolyn Jeanette Autry of Stedman and Larry Cyrus Carlisle of Autryville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Church of God of Prophecy, 1655 Mt. Carmel Church Road, Autryville, and other times at the home.
Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman.
