Clinton’s Lady Dark Horses held on to their perfect record, defeating the Wallace-Rose Hill Lady Bulldogs 62-40 in a road game Friday night.
Dark Horse coach Chris Owens said pressure defense by his girls was the key to the game.
“Our defense helped set the tempo for the game and allowed us to force some turnovers that we were able to turn into easy buckets.”
Clinton led from the start, ending the first quarter up 16-9. They added 17 more points in the second quarter to take a 33-17 lead into the half.
The Lady Horses broke it open in the third period, racking up 21 more points and holding Wallace to only 9.
“I was very pleased with our overall play,” Owens said.
Courtney Pearsall led the Horses with a double-double — 23 points and 11 rebounds. Kristen Glasper added another 16 points.
Clinton’s record moves to 3-0. They face a tough Lakewood Leopard team Monday at Lakewood.
