Lakewood Country Club played host to the annual Lakewood District Booster Club fundraising golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 8. Seventeen teams participated.
The First Flight was won by Steve Culbreth, Nichols Owen and Blake Brown. Second Flight honors went to Freddie Sessoms, Eric Bullard and John McNeil.
Booster Club President Kaye Heinz extended appreciation to the golfers and the many sponsors for their generous support, noting their support allows for the purchase of uniforms, equipment as well as supplement the costs of several camps.
Lakewood athletic director James Lewis stated that without the support of the booster club it would be impossible to run a quality athletic program. Lewis noted that nearly one third of the student body participates on an athletic team.
