CLINTON — Mr. Lewis Henry Daughtry Sr., 80, of 686 Simmons Road, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at St. Matthew Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1900 Bradshaw Road, Clinton, with Pastor Joseph Tew officiating. Interment will follow in the L.H. and Lou Daughtry Family Cemetery on Lockamy Road at Simmons Road, Clinton.

Mr. Daughtry, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Frank Daughtry and Rena Bass Daughtry and was the husband of Idell Parson Daughtry. He retired from House Autry Mills and was a member of St. Matthew Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Willie Daughtry and Rufus Daughtry; and a sister, Nancy Lou Daughtry Peterson.

Mr. Daughtry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Idell Parson Daughtry of the home; three children, Marilynn Daughtry Spell and husband Elbert “Nicky” Spell, Jr. of Clinton, Rena May Daughtry Rogers and husband Marty Craig Rogers of Clinton, and Lewis Henry Daughtry, Jr. and wife Kimberly Prim Daughtry of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Rachel Kaitlyn Daughtry, Emily Faith Rogers, Corrina Hope Rogers, Craig Matthew Rogers, Kimberly Diana Rogers Hairr, Nick Bartley Spell, Nicole Lynn Spell and Austin Corey Spell; four great-grandchildren, Riley Drake Spell, Alessa Jade Spell, Nick Bartley Spell, Jr., and Gavin Lee Hairr; four brothers, JR Daughtry of Goldsboro, Raeford Daughtry of Newton Grove, James “Jimmy” Daughtry of Clinton and John “Johnny” Daughtry of Clinton; and a sister, Mary Daughtry Jordan of Delco.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton and other times at the home of Marilynn and Nicky Spell, 704 Simmons Road, Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1900 Bradshaw Road, Clinton, N.C. 28328.
