An observant drug agent was able to put two Sampson County men behind bars on drug charges after noticing a wanted man driving a vehicle in Roseboro Monday morning.

James Coleman McLamb, 42, of 258 Sessoms-Naylor Lane, Roseboro, was seen driving near his home Monday around 9 a.m. when the Sampson County deputy recognized him as being wanted on three charges in connection with a meth lab found at his residence last month.

McLamb had outstanding warrants for possession/distribution of a methamphetamine precursor; manufacturing methamphetamine; and exceeding pseudo limits. He was arrested on Dec. 1 when a suspected meth lab was discovered at his residence. At the time, McLamb was only charged with possession of methamphetamine. He was later given the three additional charges and warrants were taken out on him.

McLamb was seen driving on Sessoms-Naylor Lane with passenger Marcus Warren Naylor, 36, of 1087 Faison Hwy., Clinton, and was pulled over.

A search turned up what reports show was .1 gram of methamphetamine. Naylor, reports further show, was carrying .4 grams of methamphetamine and .3 grams of hydrocodone.

In addition to his outstanding warrants, McLamb was charged with possession of methamphetamine. He was placed under a $30,000 bond and a trial date of Jan. 7 was set; Naylor was charged with possession of methamphetamine and simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Naylor was given a $10,000 unsecured bond and a trial date of Jan. 7.
