He couldn’t seem to get over it. Every time he prayed and believed that never again would he use pornography, he was back … again and again. What kind of Christian husband uses pornography and could even call himself a Christian; he felt like a hypocrite and a failure in all areas of his life! It all started many years ago, when he discovered his dad’s playboy magazines, and everything slowly went downhill. His wife was initially forgiving, but had eventually become angry, resentful and frustrated with him. She just doesn’t understand his struggles, how it’s impossible to get out of the death grip pornography has over his life. What is wrong with him? It’s just easier not to relate to his wife, and instead relate with someone on a computer screen, or maybe even someone new.

She couldn’t believe it! His pornography issue was shameful, embarrassing and a reflection of how she couldn’t measure up as a wife, a woman who wasn’t “good enough” to satisfy him. Why was he secretive, distant and wanting to interact with a stranger on the computer screen more than her? It was bad enough to see the pay per view bills, Internet charges, lies and deceptions that mounted. She tried to be patient and forgiving, but the resentments, pain and feelings of betrayal were building. The night she found out he was out with another woman, was devastating! She drove around for hours, with her then infant daughter in the back seat, hoping and praying that she would find them! Then if she found them, what would she do? Would she walk up to them and yell, scream, cry or be humiliated? What did she do to deserve it? She just wanted to crawl under a rock and die.
