Parents, guardians, cheerleaders and referees gathered at Midway Middle School Thursday to kick off the middle school Round-up Jamboree.

Basically, the middle school Round-up mimics the high school Pigskin Jamboree; meaning, there are two teams battling it out simultaneously on each end of the field, with each team seeing ten minutes on offense, seeing ten plays before switching out.

The first games on the field were Union Middle taking on Midway Middle on one half of the field and Hobbton Middle battling Roseboro-Salemburg Middle on the other end.

Although these games were scrimmages, Union was handled by Midway 2-1 and Roseboro-Salemburg defeated Hobbton 4-0.

During the second set of games, Sampson Middle took on Midway on one end and Union battled it out with Hobbton on the other end.

Midway pulled another win 2-1 and Union vanquished Hobbton 5-0.

The third set of games had RSMS and SMS paired, as well as HMS and MMS.

After each team seeing ten minutes on offense, RSMS gained another win 1-0. Midway also achieved their third win of the night 2-0.

The fourth set of games had MMS matched with RSMS, which ended in a tie 1-1, and SMS playing UMS, which ended victories for the young Spartans 2-0.

The final set of games allowed UMS and RSMS to play, leaving the Leopards with a win 2-0. On the other end of the field, HMS took on SMS and were defeated 3-0.

As for a scoring summary, MMS won three and tied once; RSMS also won three and tied one; UMS won two and lost two; HMS lost four; and SMS won one and lost three.
