MHS vs. Princeton

The Midway Raiders took an early lead Monday night against Princeton with the score 2-0 at halftime.

Head coach James Phillips said, “We played well tonight, led by Jose Carranza and David Pressley on defense and Wes Hurley providing pressure on the Princeton goal. I am proud of the way we controlled play and created numerous chances to score.”

The Raiders’ goals came off Hurley and Chris Dixon.

“Midway forwards Wes Hurley, Jamie Castillo, Chris Dixon, Jafet Medina, Caleb Sanders and Hilario Perez combined to take more than 30 goal shots on Princeton’s goaltender Derek West, who along with Ethan Anderson were standouts for the Princeton team,” Phillips reported.

Princeton’s Anderson scored their only goal, making the final score 2-1, Midway.

“Midway’s goaltender, Chris Sanders, also played well and nearly earned a shutout in his first game in goal,” Phillips concluded.
