On Sept. 29, four new Guardian ad Litem volunteers were sworn in by Judge Paul Hardison in Sampson County.

Guardian ad Litem volunteers are concerned citizens from the community who advocate for children petitioned into court by the Sampson County Department of Social Services as a result of being abused or neglected. The duties of these new volunteers will be to determine the best interests of the children and together with an Attorney Advocate they will report their findings to the court.

Judges will then be able to use that information to help make decisions about finding abused and neglected children safe and permanent homes.

For more information about a rewarding opportunity to help the children of your community, please call 910-275-7021 or visit www.GAL4KIDS.org.
