Miss Lakewood — pageant being held Friday, March 15, 7 p.m., in the Lakewood High School gym.

The Coharie People — invites all Coharie Tribal members to a walk through of the recently purchased property, the old Skipper” building located eight miles north on U.S. 421 Saturday, March 16 from noon until 1 p.m. A free hot dog and drink will be provided by Chief Jacobs for Coharie members attending.

Clinton-Sampson Ducks Unlimited — annual banquet Saturday, March 23. Over 85 guns will be available by auction, along with rafles or game prizes. Butler Avenue Talent Show fundraising — will be held Friday, March 15, 7 p.m., at Clinton High School. Students in grades 2 and 3 will be performing.

The Hopewell United Methodist Church Relay for Life Team — will hold a St. Patrick’s Day Dance at the Vann Crossroads Fire Department from 7 - 11 p.m. Saturday March 16. Proceeds going to Relay for Life. The dance will be DJ’d by Ashley Holland. There will some light refreshments and snacks sold at the dance concessions. Operation Medicine Drop — Thursday, March 21 at Clinton Drug, 307 Beaman St., and Walmart, Sampson Crossing. Clinton Police Dept. will be on hand to assist residents discard of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

Sampson County Environmental Health — will offer monthly proctor sessions for the Food Manager’s Serve Safe exam. The first session will be held on April 11, 2013. Pre-registration will be required each month. FMI, call 592-4675.
