Selena D. Carpenter, 91

PHOENIX, N.Y. — Mrs. Selena D. "Marietta" Carpenter, 91, resident for 58 years, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday April 22, 2012, with her loving family by her side. Born in Newton Grove, to her late parents, Nancy Selena Rackley) and Freddie Faulton Daughtry on Feb. 20, 1921. She was a graduate of Westbrook High School Class of 1939. During WW II, Marietta work as a mechanic and a manager of the PX at Seymour Johnson Air Field (AFB), in Goldsboro; later at Bristol Labs and the YMCA both in Syracuse, N.Y.; and then the Fire Call Center operator for the Village of Phoenix. Marietta was a member of Phoenix United Methodist Church,as well as the U. M. Women, and the Sunshine Club and the Silver Crest Rebekah Lodge 229, Mexico, N.Y.

Predeceased by her husband, Richard Joseph Carpenter on March 22, 1982; three brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her four sons and one daughter and their spouses, Herbert F. (Roseann) Carpenter, of East Williston, N.Y., Paul D. Carpenter of Syracuse, N.Y., Nancy A. (Patrick) Finn of Reno, Nev., William C. (Chailai) Car penter, Fulton, N.Y., Richard F. (Janet) Carpenter of Cicero, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Heather, Jeremy, Jessee, Evan, Roseann, and Emily; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Willy, Trey, Bri, Rissy, Mia, Kiki, and Deags; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday April 25, at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Homes, Inc., 431 Main St., Phoenix, N.Y., with the Rev. Joseph Kim officiating. Burial to follow the funeral in Phoenix Rural Cemetery.

Calling hours are the day before, on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Emma D. Honeycutt, 84

AUTRYVILLE — Mrs. Emma Iona Daniel Honeycutt, 84, of 1413 Baptist Chapel Road, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, at Baptist Chapel Church in Autryville with the Rev. Alan Roberts and the Rev. Tommy Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Honeycutt, a native of Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Charlie Blake Daniel and Sophronia Carrie Tyndall Daniel and was the widow of Blackman Odell Honeycutt. She was a homemaker and a member of Baptist Chapel Church. She was predeceased by a daughter, Oleta Honeycutt; a great-granddaughter, Michaela Honeycutt; a brother, Maldon Daniel, and two sisters, Nada Long and Rodena Brown.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie Odell Honeycutt and wife, Laura of Fayetteville and Charlie Lynn Honeycutt and wife, Patty of Autryville; three daughters, Wanda Honeycutt Grantham and partner, Keith Hardee of Autryville, Shirley Abay-Abay and husband, Maurice of Autryville, Gloria Royal and husband, Jeff of Salemburg; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Reva Willis of Hope Mills, May Willis of Wallace, Charlie Daniel of Harrells, Dexton Daniel of St. Pauls, Murtie Bradshaw of Dunn, Nancy Hardison of Godwin.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 23, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton and will at other times at the home, 1413 Baptist Chapel Road, Autryville.

Juliaett S. Williamson, 91

KNIGHTDALE — Mrs. Juliaett S. Williamson, 91, of 249 Tranquility Lane,formerly of Clinton, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh.

Brian H. Thomas, 50

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Mr. Brian Henry Thomas, 50, formerly of Rose Hill, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Columbus Hospice Center, Columbus, Ga.

Memorial services will be held at noon, Wednesday, April 25, from the Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel, 472 Wells Town Road, Rose Hill, with bishop Preston Leon Hall officiating.

Jerry B. Jackson, 69

NEWTON GROVE — Mr. Jerry Brooks Jackson, died Sunday, April 22, 2012.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 24 at Pleasant Union Christian Church, 1920 Mt. Olive Hwy., Newton Grove with the Rev. Ronnie Wilson officiating. Interment will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 25 at Harnett Primitive Baptist Church, 226 Harnett Church Road, Roseboro.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Shelia Jackson Jackson; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Jackson and Clark Honeycutt of Salemburg; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Brooks and Veronica Jackson of Whiteville; grandchildren, Chandler Brooks Honeycutt, Chase Jackson and Logan Brooke Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Franklin Sherrill and Katrina Sutton Jackson of Suttontown; and special aunt, Esther Giddens of Newton Grove.

Mr. Jackson was a retired field manager from IBM and was an avid fisherman having won several "King Mackerel" tournaments. Being the loving person that he was, he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Loving his grandchildren as he did, he had special nicknames for them, "Big Boy," "Little Boy," and "My Girlfriend." He loved attending their sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Atlas and Dorothy Naylor Jackson.

The family will receive friends after the service, in the fellowship hall on Tuesday.
