ROSEBORO — Mr. Calvin Johnson Jr. 52, of 391 Calvin St., died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, at Charles E. Perry Elementary School, Roseboro. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clinton.

He is survived by his father, the Rev. Dr. Calvin Johnson Sr. of Roseboro; one sister, the Rev. Judy Johnson-Truitt of Clinton.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Butler & Son Funeral Home, Roseboro with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.

Carol H. Herring, 72

MOUNT OLIVE — Mrs. Carol Howell Herring, 72, of 207 W. Pollock St., died at home on Tuesday, Jan. 31. 2012.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church with visitation afterwards.

Burial will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3. in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Mrs. Herring, along with her family, was a resident of Grove Street in Clinton for 18 years before relocating to her native Mount Olive.

She is survived by her husband, D. C. “Bill” Herring of the home; son, Michael Herring; daughter, Media’ H. Lee, all of Mount Olive; three grandchildren; sisters in law, Faye Howell Turner and Janet Herring Howard of Mount Olive;brother, Steve Strickland and wife, Cheryl, of Seven Springs; several nieces and nephews; and many dear and special friends.
