Beaver Dam

Baptist Church

Will hold revival Oct. 9 through Oct. 12, beginning at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The Rev. Dr. Michael Cumming will be the guest speaker. There will be special music and a nursery provided. The church is located off Hwy. 210 South, 4693 Beaver Dam Church Road.

Baptist Church

Will have a church fellowship cookout at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1.

Cedar Point

Pastor Gary D. Jones and Cedar Point Church Family will host a “Ride for a Cure” Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, Oct.15. The registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the fee is $10. Departure time for the ride is 10 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the Relay for Life Campaign.

Clinton First

Baptist Church

Will celebrate Homecoming at 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. Dr. Andy Wakefield, dean of Campbell Divinity School, will be the guest speaker. A covered dish meal will follow the service in Hinson Hall. The church is located in Delway.

Freedom Baptist

Will celebrate Homecoming at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 2 with the Dixie Travelers as guest.

Grove Park

Baptist Church

Will celebrate Grove Park Day, Sunday, Oct. 2, with Sunday school starting at 9:45 a.m. and worship starting at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Glenn Jonas will be the speaker and there will be special music provided. A fellowship meal will follow services.

Harmony Baptist

Will celebrate Homecoming, Sunday, Oct. 2, with Sunday school starting at 9:45 and worship at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served following the service.

Holly Grove

Will have an old-fashioned Homecoming, Sunday, Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. Music will be provided by the mass choir and the guest speaker will be elder Terrell Powell. Dinner will be served after the service.

Will celebrate Homecoming, at 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 9. Lunch following the service.

House of Jacob

Will be discussing the Beast from Revelations 13 on Friday, Sept. 30, at 7:30 p.m. Revival will be at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday, Oct. 4-6, beginning with evangelist Ruth Davis of Dunn. Prayer line is open daily from 7:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m .

Ingold First Baptist

Will hold Homecoming services on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Farrow Jr. of First Baptist Church Clinton, 900 College St., as guest speaker. Dinner will be served prior to the service.

Long Branch

Will present “CHRISTSTOCK: a day of music, peace and the Good news of Jesus Christ” on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The church is located at 2868 Minnie Hall Road, Autryville. Ken Mansfield, former manager of The Beatles will be guest speaker at 3:30 p.m. He will lead our worship service at 7 p.m featuring his presentation on “The Beatles and the Bible.” Participating musicians include: The Justin Warren Teseniar Band, Accepted, Rod Propes and other groups to be named this week. There will be a KIDZ ZONE play area, concessions, and various vendors and craftsmen booths. Mr. Mansfield will be signing copies of his books relating his life with The Beatles. Milton Grove Baptist

Will celebrate Homecoming Sunday, Oct. 2 beginning at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Elwood McPhail will bring the morning message. The Rev. Marvin T. Clowney, choir and congregation will be in charge of the 3 p.m. service. Lunch will be served at the Taylors Bridge Community Building. The church is located at 6210 Taylors Bridge Hwy., Clinton.

Will have Homecoming, Sunday, Oct. 2 with the Rev. James McLean as the 11 a.m. speaker. A covered dish lunch will follow and then music. The church is located at 1414 Odom Road, in the Herring Community.

Will observe its annual Homecoming on Sunday, Oct. 2 with the Rev. Tommy Jones bringing the morning message at 11 a.m. The afternoon guest will be the Rev. Leslie Morrisey and Greater Six Runs Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey. Afternoon service will begin at 3 p.m.

N.C. Prayer Tower

Will hold a mission fundraising from 4 until 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1. BBQ or fried chicken plates $6. The church is located outside of Roseboro.

Ram in the Bush

Universalist

The Rev. Etta Briet, PhD will be guest speaker at 11 a.m., Sunday service on Oct. 2. The Rev. Briet is a frequent speaker at Red Hill and is an ordained interfaith minister. She leads a weekly program “Everyday Spirituality” at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Wilmington. Sunday School and Adult Education discussion is at 10 a.m. Refreshments will follow the service. The church is located on Taylors Bridge Highway (U.S. 421 S) beside the fire station. Robert’s Grove OFWB

Will celebrate its 117th annual Homecoming Sunday, Oct. 2. Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 9:45 a.m. Worship service at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Charles Hansley will be the speaker. A memorial service will be included in the worship service. Lunch will be served after the services. Robert’s Grove is located in the Spivey’s Corner community at 725 Robert’s Grove Road (near Midway Middle School).

Roseboro UMC

The church is still in great need of items to replenish its food pantry. Please donate. Also, the church is gearing up for its 155th homecoming on Oct. 23. All friends and family in the area are welcome to attend. Service starts at 11 a.m., followed by a covered dish lunch. Also, senior citizens will meet on Oct. 4 in the fellowship hall at 11 a.m. Bring a sandwich and desert.

Royal Chapel MB

A.M.E. Zion

Will celebrate the 6th pastoral anniversary banquet honoring pastor Roosevelt and first lady Niagara D. Johnson at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Wayne Agriculture Center, 208 West Chestnut St., Goldsboro. Guest speaker is the Rev. Dr. Daran H. Mitchell of First A.M.E. Zion Church, Brooklyn, N.Y. Tickets are $20 and dress is semi-formal.

Will have service Sunday starting with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. Vice Bishop Garland Mayes will bring the Word. The male chorus will render the music. Homecoming will be observed on Sunday, Oct. 9.
