Peppers guest at Union Grove’s homecoming Sunday

The annual homecoming will be held at the Union Grove Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, Clinton, Sunday, Oct. 21, beginning at 11 a.m. The theme is “Bringing Families Home.” The pastor, elder Dr. Timothy Peppers, will bring the message and the church choir will provide the music. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. At 4 p.m., the guest speaker will be elder Herman Vaughn, choir and congregation of the United Friendship Church of Christ in Rocky Mount. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

On Sunday, Oct. 21, a special service will be held at the Saint Paul Church of Christ, beginning at 3 p.m. The guests will be the Rev. Jeffrey White, choir and congregation from Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, who will render the service. Host pastor is the Rev. Onyx Martin. The theme for the service is “Turn Around.”

The eighth anniversary of pastor Louse Royal will being with three nights of revival Oct. 24-26 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Tonight, the guest speaker will be Rosa Allen, associate minister of the Howells Chapel Church of Smithfield. Thursday, the guest will be pastor Elliott Tatum of the New Bethel Church in Fayetteville and Friday night, pastor Robert Williams of the Elbethel Ministry of Whiteville will be guest. On Sunday, Oct. 28, the service will begin at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be pastor Joseph Moore, accompanied by the Evergreen United Holiness Church in Salemburg. Dinner will be served following the morning service.

Homecoming celebration will be held at the Little Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Harold Boykin, will bring the message and the adult choir will provide the music. Dinner will be served. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Willie Bryant, choir and congregation of the Saint Jude Church, Clinton and the Saint Stephens choir.

The members of the Union Star Free Will Baptist Church will celebrate the 44th anniversary of their pastor, bishop James Leftdwrige, Sunday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. The guests will be elder Carlton Barnes, choir and congregation of the Darden Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro. Dinner will be served following the morning service.

The Western Union Missionary Baptist annual session will be held through Oct. 19 at First Baptist Church, Roseboro at 6:45 p.m. nightly. There will be different speakers, workshops and choirs every night. All area churches in this session are invited to attend. The host pastor moderator is John T. Oliver.

Revival will begin at the Morning Star United Holiness Church, Clinton, Wednesday, Oct. 17 and continue through Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Bernard Hayes of the Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church. Different choirs will participate. Host pastor is the Rev. Lloyd Butler Jr.

The adult choir of the Andrew Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their choir anniversary Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m. Appearing on the program will be the Snowhill choir of Roseboro, Higher Level choir of Kenansville, Big Piney Grove choir of Clinton, soloist the Rev. James Jackson and others. The host pastor is the Rev. Gerald Underwood.

A Harvest Celebration program will be held at the Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m. There will be several speakers, including the Rev. Katrina Cunningham, minister Della Royal, elder Tonya Oliver, minister Valerie Nelson, the Rev. Carolyn Bennett, elder Heather Dixon and minister Jawanna Murphy. Their fall revival will begin Monday Oct. 22 and continue through Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. nightly The guest revivalist will be apostle Leroy Hargett of the Life Changers Community Church in Clayton. There will be several choirs during the week.

The Christ Missionary Baptist Church, now located at Salemburg Elementary School, will have its regular morning service Sunday, Oct. 21 beginning at 10 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Marvin T. Clowney, will bring the message and the CBC choir will provide the music.

Regular morning worship service will be held at the Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, H.B. Lewis Road, Clinton, Sunday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. The pastor, the Rev. Jeffrey White, will bring the message and the male chorus will provide the music.

The Unity in the Community Day of Christian Fellowship, in memory of Glen Hemmingway, will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at Union Elementary School from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. All churches, civic groups, organizations, mime ministries, choirs and soloists are invited to participate. Pre-anniversary revival for elder Willie Bryant will begin Thursday Oct. 18 and continue until Oct. 19 at the Saint Stephens United Holiness Church in Turkey, at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The guest speaker will be Dr. Evelena Oliver of Saint Jude Church of Warsaw. On Friday, elder Fernando Getty of the Piney Green Church of Newton Grove, will be the guest. On Sunday, Oct. 21, will be elder Willie Bryant’s anniversary celebration. The guests will be district elder Anthony Flow, choir and congregation of the Saint Luke Church of Rose H:ill. Dinner will be served following the morning service.

The Friendly Trio will be at Mary Gran Nursing Center Sunday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The Inspirational word will be by minister Douglas Barnhill. The Friendly Trio, along with the Church Association, will give out food bags on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. For more information, call 590-4925.

On Thursday, the Rev. Harold Boykin will be the guest and on Friday, the guest will be elder Gary Jones and Cedar Point Male chorus. On Sunday, Oct. 28, will be the church’s annual homecoming. The pastor, elder Willie Bryant, will bring the message and the choir will render the music.
