The Piney Grove Ruritan Club met on June 21. President Doug Blackman opened the meeting and everyone enjoyed a very good meal. Blackman led a discussion of future fundraisers and projects. They planned their quarterly highway trash pickup for June 30. Special guests were Zone Two Governor Billy Cavenaugh and his wife, Evelene; and Past District Governor Charles Westmoreland and his wife, Jeffrie. Roger Peterson, member and Cape Fear District Foundation chairman, gave a presentation to the club regarding the Foundation. The Club meets every third Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Piney Grove Ruritan Club Building on Giddensville Road, Faison. Anyone interested in attending a meeting or becoming a member, call 910-267-1001.
