An alleged armed robbery call turned into a drug bust Wednesday evening after investigators discovered 65 grams of marijuana at the victim’s residence on North Spring Branch Road.

According to reports, the Sampson County E-911 Center received a report of an “armed robbery” at 4444 N. Spring Branch Road, Dunn. Upon arriving on the scene, deputies were met by the residents, Kable Leo Partida and Laura Ann Hunt. The residents advised, reports show, that they had just returned to their home when two men in a small red car pulled into their yard.

The two suspects jumped out of the vehicle, armed with pistols and demanded money, the victims told officers. The residents advised suspects that they didn’t have any money, so they reportedly left the area, without harming the victims.

While the deputies were interviewing Hunt, reports show they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the residence. When they asked Hunt about the smell of marijuana, she advised them that she was “scared” after the suspects left, so she smoked a “joint.”

Officers discovered a plastic bag containing a substance believed to be marijuana inside the residence. Another bag containing a substance believed to be marijuana was discovered inside Hunt’s purse in addition to $1,646 in cash — $1,600 of it was stacked in $100 bills. In all, 65 grams of marijuana were seized.

While attempting to finish the investigation of the armed robbery, Partida advised officers that he didn’t wish to file a report because he knew the two suspects.

Hunt, age 27, of 4444 N. Spring Branch Road, Dunn, was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hunt was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under a $7,000 bond and given a trial date of Oct. 30.

I would have paid good money to see the look on the deputy's face after his conversation with Laura Hunt.

Deputy: "Ms. Hunt, is that pot I smell?"

Laura:" I was so distraught with everything I needed to light up a blunt to calm my nerves".

I love Darwinism.

How is it that noneyo can post a comment totally irrelevant to the story and it's posted? Do I need to play my Native American race card?
