An apparent dispute between two area residents at a Sampson County car wash has left one of them facing myriad offenses, including assault and weapons charges.

Vanessa Star Royal, 28, 4170 Hayne Stretch Road, Roseboro, was taken into custody around 9 p.m. Thursday when officers were called to the Roseboro business in reference to a citizen complaint.

Although few details were available from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Department, reports show that Royal was charged with carrying a concealed weapon; going armed to the terror of the public; assault by pointing a gun; communicating threats; injury to personal property and assault with a deadly weapon.

She was taken to the Sampson County Detention Center and placed under a $5,000 bond. She had been released by Friday morning.

Royal is scheduled to appear in court on the charges Jan. 14.
