Sampson Middle’s boy got off to a roaring start in their first game of the season, defeating the Raiders of Midway Middle 54-24.
Sampson coach Ron Davis praised the play of both teams.
“Midway played a good game; they are well-coached. Our kids just come out with a lot of energy, and scored some early points to give us the lead,” Davis said.
The coach said his defense did a good job of holding Midway away from the basket and the offense was able to get some easy baskets early on to set the tone for the game.
“It was a great team effort,” Davis said.
