A Clinton man remains behind bars this morning facing a laundry list of charges leveled after being caught on surveillance video attempting to sell what is believed to be stolen property.

Jimmy Fisher, 34, of 864 Governor Moore Road, Clinton is under a $101,500 and awaiting trial after officers located him at an Indiantown Road residence early this week.

He is charged with myriad offenses stemming from three November break-ins and a plethora of failure to appear warrants, all which were lodged against him after he was taken into custody Wednesday morning.

“This was a good arrest,” said Sheriff’s Cpl. Marcus Smith. “Our detectives and deputies did an outstanding job locating this individual.”

Fisher now faces two felony breaking and entering charges; five possession of stolen goods charges, four of them felonies; five larceny charges, two of them felonies; seven failure to appear counts of driving while license revoked; and failure to appear charges of hit and run property damage, seatbelt and other traffic infractions.

Smith said investigators were led to Fisher as a suspect after he was caught on video surveillance at a local salvage yard selling property that had been reported stolen.

“He was attempting to get rid of various metals,” Smith said.

Included in the items the suspect was attempting to sell was scrap iron, metal, a John Deere engine, cast iron and assorted other metals.

Smith said Fisher is the suspect in three different November break-ins — on on Nov. 6 on Tew Road in Autryville, another on Nov. 7 on Dawson Road and a third, also on Nov. 7 on Huntley School Road.

“Warrants were issued after he was ID’d on the video. From that point, officers were trying to locate him. The investigation led us to a residence on Indiantown Road where we found him and made the arrest,” the sheriff’s official noted.
