Psalm 91:1 says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
There is a deep place in God that you and I can dwell in if we desire to go there. This place requires more than the weekly attendance at your church services, it requires more than you cooking for the church and shaking the preacher’s hand. This place is where God can reveal his “secrets” to you about his plan for your life.
There are things that God wants to reveal to you and I that can only be heard when we are in the secret place. This place will require all of you, and let’s face it we, from time to time, don’t want to give up all of us to God. There are still some areas in our lives that we just haven’t surrendered over unto the lord. Why is this Saints of God? There is more to Jesus than what you and I have seen, and he wants to show us more, but we are holding on to certain areas of our lives.
When you dwell in this secret place, you give up everything — your will for his will, your ways for his ways, your plans for his plans. You stay in this place until God speaks; regardless of how long it takes, you stay. Even if it gets uncomfortable, you still stay, even if you get lonely, you still stay, even if no one believes in your house, you still stay in this secret place.
The word “dwell” means to abide or to remain and that’s what you do if you are in this “secret place.” You wait on God, you trust him and believe that he will bring you through or he will give you a word that will see you through. You do as it says “abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Oh ,I see so many Christian men and women abiding under the shadow of the preacher, abiding under the shadow of their church titles, abiding under the shadow of their denominations, abiding under the shadow of others, when that’s not what the Bible says to do.
These things, at some point and time, will let you down, but there’s not one time that Jesus has ever let you down. It says to “Abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” Man did not save you and I, it was JESUS; the preacher did not set you and I free, it was JESUS; our denomination will not get us into heaven, it’s believing in JESUS.
Jesus Christ is the “ALMIGHTY” and him alone; he is the one who when in the secret place will give a peace that surpasses all understanding. It’s in “his shadow” and not man’s that healing and deliverance will come into the lives of those that are willing to go into this “Secret Place of the most high.”
