AUTRYVILLE — Mr. William Rufus Autry Sr., 76, of 264 Autry Mill Road, died on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 20, at the South River Community Church with the Rev. Lynn McLaurin officiating. Burial will follow in the Autry Family Cemetery on Autry Mill Road, Autryville.

Mr. Autry was a native of Sampson County, the son of the late Jeff and Annie Laura Carroll Autry. He was a lineman/foreman for South River Electric for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Autry of the home; one daughter, Lisa Barnes and husband, Brian of Dunn; two sons, Rufus Autry Jr. and wife, Amanda of Godwin and Leonard Autry and wife, Wendy of Autryville; two sisters, Mary Frances Doggett of Surf City and Lucy Ann Beasley of Garland; seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman and at other times at the home.
