Investigators with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office are seeking the public’s help in identifying two female suspects responsible for hitting a 20-year-old northern Sampson County woman with an aluminum baseball bat, sending her to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.

The woman, listed in serious but stable condition Monday, was allegedly at her mother’s Yvette Lane residence just south of Dunn, Friday evening, when the incident occurred.

According to reports, two black females came to the home around 9:11 p.m. and threatened both women. As the 20-year-old came out to assess the situation, one of the two girls allegedly pulled out an aluminum baseball bat and assaulted her with it.

The victim was taken to Betsy Johnson Regional Medical Center where she was treated and given stitches to the back of her head and forehead after the beating. After an MRI, which showed the woman suffered a skull fracture, the victim was sent to WakeMed in Raleigh, where she still was listed in stable condition as of Monday.

Investigators with the sheriff’s office are asking for the public’s help in capturing the two suspects, identified as only black females.

If you have any information about this crime, call the Sampson County Sheriff’s tip line at 910- 564-5261.
