Work while waiting on God

Isaiah 40:31 says “but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.”

I would like to focus on the first part of this verse were it says “but they shall wait upon the Lord.” I hear so many Christians say this verse and, for some reason, they believe while in the waiting process for God to bless them they don’t have to work. Saints of God, I am here to announce to you today that you are still held accountable by God to keep on working while your breakthrough is on the way.

The work that I am referring to is that you are still suppose to pray, fast and walk in obedience to the word of God. Many Christians want the blessing of the Lord, but don’t want to work while waiting for them. It’s like people wanting to lose weight, without working out and changing their eating habits. Some Christians are looking for a quick fix to the blessings of God.

As much as you are waiting on God, he is waiting on you to put forth some effort towards what he has commanded us to do. I see so many Christians living like some of these fad diets that have taken this country by storm. Allow me to explain. Some people expect to lose weight that it took years to obtain overnight or in a few pills or shakes or smoothies. These fades work for a few moments or weeks or months, and so now the individual believes that they can obtain their goals without changing any of their regular routine. They don’t know it, but all they are doing is suppressing (pushing down) the body tissue, and the very moment they stop taking the pills or stop drinking the shakes or smoothies up arises what was suppressed, and now they are worse than before.

But when you work out, which burns away that body tissue, you have worked.

It’s like a person saying “I am saved now, I have given my life and heart to Jesus, so I can live how ever I want to and still go to heaven.”

NO. NO. NO. There is only one way to heaven and his name is Jesus, and we are to live according to his word which tells us to work until his return. Read your Bibles and see how the forefathers of the gospel worked while waiting on the Lord. There is work to done, there are souls to be won over to the kingdom of God, there are people right now standing in need of prayer in which God has told us to always do.

Stop looking for a quick fix from God, like the world and those who are on these fad diets which are only temporal, but realize that what God has for you takes time because he wants it to be permanent.
