The Midway Middle School Raiders’ softball team notched two more wins into their belts Monday after defeating the Union Spartans twice in a double-header. In the first round of play, Midway beat Union 10-2; Midway won the second game, 15-2.

Batting for the Raiders were Katlyn Jackson, who went 8 for 8 with 4 RBIs; Tess Williams went 3 for 8, had a triple and 4 RBIs, and Elizabeth McCullen went 4 for 8 with 3 RBIs.

McCullen also recorded a win from the hill in the first game. Sabra Knowles was the winning pitcher for the second game.

Midway coach Sam Kitchen commented on today’s victory. “We played great defense today. Union did not have their best pitcher available today. We are always glad to get a win against Union, as they always have a good team.”

The Raiders will travel today to Hobbton Middle for more play at 4 p.m.
