Clinton’s junior varsity girls won a heart-stopper home game against Topsail Tuesday afternoon, defeating the visitors 50-48.
“The girls played very well tonight,” coach Regina Parker said. “They hustled all four quarters and left it all on the court. I was very proud of my girls.”
Clinton led the entire game, ahead 17-15 after the first court and carrying a 34-30 lead into the half.
Leading scorers for Clinton were Brielle Mitchell with 17 points; Jasmine Fryar, 15; Jacklyn Parker, 14; Zoey Harris, 2; and Ashley Dixon, 2.
This moves the JV Lady Horses to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play. They return to the court Friday when they travel to East Duplin for a 4:30 p.m. game.
