Clinton’s junior varsity girls added another road win to their record Friday, defeating Northside 38-22.
Despite a low-scoring first quarter that saw Clinton edge ahead 8-4, the young Lady Horses put forth a strong defensive showing, their coach said, allowing them to off Northside’s scoring attempts.
Clinton went into the break up 17-4.
The JV added another 10 points in the third quarter, heading into the final frame up 27-13.
“We started off very slow, but our defense stepped it up,” JV coach Regina Parker said.
Leading scorers for Clinton’s JV girls were Brielle Mitchell with 13; Jasmine Fryar, 9; Yasmine Williams, 8; Chyna Killet, 5; Talaya Butler, 2; Brittany Simmons, 1.
The win moves Clinton’s record to 4-2 in conference play. They return to the court next Friday in a game against Richlands.
