The Delta Mu chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International recently honored beginning teachers in Sampson County with goody bags filled with supplies they could use in their classrooms during the school year.

DKG members and local businesses donated the items and members of the group delivered the bags to approximately 60 beginning teachers in Sampson County, Clinton City and area private schools.

Contributing businesses included: BB&T of Newton Grove, First Citizens Bank of Newton Grove, Star Telephone, Patriot State Bank, and Newton Grove Drug Co. The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary society of women educators.

The society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education
