Elsie S. Hudson, 82

TURKEY — Mrs. Elsie Spell Hudson, 82, of 8318 Turkey Hwy., died at her home Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Turkey Baptist Church with Dr. Ronald Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.

Born in 1930 in Sampson County, Mrs. Hudson was the daughter of the late Leslie Carl and Nina Torrans Spell, and a member of Turkey Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Turkey High School and Hardbarger Business College. She was a retired secretary with Federal Land Bank in Clinton and the widow of Pelmon Jart Hudson Sr.

She is survived by a daughter, Julie Malone and husband, Mike of Charlotte; son, Pelmon Jart Hudson Jr. and wife Cece of Turkey; two sisters, Suzanne Best of Monroe and Nancy Pope of Clinton; brother, Kenan Spell of Butner; and five grandchildren, Pelmon Jart Hudson III, Paxton Jett Hudson, Phagan Joe Hudson, John Hudson (Jack) Malone and Jenna Elizabeth Malone.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Leslie Spell.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Jart Hudson, 4901 Old Warsaw Road, Turkey.
